Ranch Home Renovation

This ranch home renovation added 115 square feet under an existing roofline and opened up the floor plan. Nevertheless, a new foundation was required to support the new floor area. The old fireplace and chimney were also removed to create more usable floor space and bring in more light with a new window.

To promote better indoor air quality, the original heat ducts and furnace were replaced and the home's interior was painted with no VOC Benjamin Moore Aura paint. To promote better energy-efficiency, single-pane windows were replaced by dual-pane Energy-Star Marvin Integrity windows, all the lighting became LED, and the aging wood shake roof was replaced with Presidential Shake TL by CertainTeed along with new roof vents.

The kitchen has a walk-in pantry, walnut doors and drawers, walnut-faced Columbia Forest Products Purebond plywood panels, Blanco City Silestone countertops, AKDO tanum backsplash, Pan American Ceramics Karma Nut floor tile, Hansgrohe faucet, Zephyr hood, Frgidaire appliances, and a Rev-a-Shelf recyling center. The hardwood floors throughout are FSC-certified from Somerset Floors.
